Pelvic Floor Workshop

with Leslie Howard

Saturday, November 15th , 2008 2pm - 5pm

cost: Advanced Reg $60 / Day of Wrkshp $65

The female pelvic floor is an under-appreciated region of our anatomy-until
something goes wrong! Common problems related to this area include lumbar
pain and weakness, sacroiliac, hip and sciatic pain, loss of bladder
control, digestive, menstrual and sexual difficulties.
The pelvic floor can be too gripped, too weak, or even both at the same
time.

Kegels are not enough-even if they are taught correctly, which they rarely
are. Proper work of strengthening and stabilizing the pelvic floor helps to
create the correct foundation of each movement in the body-THIS is the
actual "core work" we need to understand-the abdominals must come after.

You will learn how to distinguish the three layers of the pelvic floor and
how to both soften and strengthen these areas. The workshop will begin with
descriptions, drawings and handouts to help you retain what you learn.
There will be a series of specific exercises and asanas, and a question and
answer opportunity.

Leslie Howard is a teacher from the San Francisco Bay area, who has been
